Builder Case Study - High Desert Construction Uses Fizbomap
Posted by Heinrich Wiebe in Fizbomap, News, Tips on January 30th, 2007
Some months ago I stumbled into a representative (Alex) from High Desert Construction at a ’sale by owner’ listing. (High Desert Construction is a local Treasure Valley Builder serving Boise, Eagle, Meridian, Kuna, Nampa, Star, Middleton.) We visited about the new home, its’ construction and what was left to be finished. I gave her my best Fizbomap pitch, but left feeling I hadn’t made much of an inroad with her. Little did I know.
Some sixty days later I got a phone call from a different High Desert Construction representative (Kurt) who asked me “would you come visit with us about this Fizbomap business”. I answered, “hell yea!” We met the next day at their office.
Turns out they’re a bunch of humble builders working everyday to build better houses. No, Really. I like their approach. Their houses are smart AND affordable.
Like most people that are familiar with real estate transactions, they realize that there isn’t much benefit in the traditional listings process these days. The home goes on the MLS, and it either sells or it sits.
They explained that many of the agents they had worked with weren’t taking the time to learn and then pass along the benefits and features of their homes to prospective buyers. These builders told me that they can do a much better job explaining/selling what goes into their houses. Guess what, it’s true; they can!
It would be easy to say High Desert Construction is just bitter about the slowing market, and their projects simply not selling…rejected by the market. Nothing listing agents could overcome, right? Maybe, but we don’t think so.
Reason why: These builders are reasonable. They would be ready to hang in there with listing agents if they could received regular updates that concerned their listings.
High Desert Construction is now working with Fizbomap. Seven listings to be exact. We could be happier and we hope they feel the same way.
Further more, since the market has turned into more of buyers market, and High Desert Construction isn’t paying a listing agent anymore, they can elect to be more competitive on pricing.
If there is something they want to change in the listing, they just send fizbomap an email. DONE.
Different pictures? DONE.
More features listed in the remarks? DONE.
More color brochures needed at the property? DONE.
MLS lockbox report concerning agent showings? DONE.
You get the picture; they are their own agent.
